Advice on new Rotors

The president of www.psmini.org (my club) has this set and suggested that I add them since I was looking to replace my OEM rotors earlier this year. It was the best deal $$$$ with out going to brake kit from what little I know.

I've researched getting a big brake kit for months now, and on all the posts I've read, the vast majority of posters recommend NOT getting cross-drilled rotors, because they will crack between the holes, radiating from the center out to the edge.
You will see this illustrated plenty here on NAM, if you just look for it.
I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but when I do, I was planning on going with slotted, (if anything other than just a plain rotor)...

Roadfly,
I think you have to ask yourself what you want out of the brakes. Are you going to autocross, are you a aggresive street driver? I belong to a M3 forum and a lot of those guys track their cars and outside of those guys that do a lot of hardcore racing, most advise against cross drilled and slotted rotors. You might be better off with a good set of brake pads (Hawk, Axxis etc.), high quality brake fluid, and lastly and most important a good set of tires. IMHO cross drilled and slotted rotors are more for bling than for performance. That being said, they do look very cool.
My 2cents

Yep, it's happened to me. Get slotted, not drilled. The best I have used to date are PowerSlot Cryo rotors. They don't have as much tendency to warp, either.

cross Drilled= street
slotted= track
the slots have a very sharp edge, almost like a knife, they tend to wear pads very fast.
drilled rotors, at least the good ones (like brembo) have a rounded chanfer around the holes.
Most of the drilled quality rotors used in street applications do not crack.

FWIW, I upgraded fronts to Powerslot cryo's and green stuff pads after much wailing and gnashing over drilled, slotted, plain, pad material, etc. Have really been happy, and don't see any accelerated wear. Noticable increase to brake performance despite not doing rears yet. No noise, no squeal, better bling, reasonable cost. Most difficult procedure was finding a torque wrench with the right geometry.
