M14 studs??

I am taking delivery of my MCS this weekend and I plan to put new rims and tires on it at the dealership. Will i need M14 studs and lugs instead of M12?? I am asking this because i heard the size might have changed this year.

There's another thread that gives details. Just do a search and you should find it.

There is no answer for your car until you pull a stud out and measure it.

It's not just on GP model's. I'm getting production dates from my dealer later today.

I think there's been at least one person here who's taken delivery of a recent base-model Cooper with 14mm studs, so I don't think it's just the GP, or even just the JCW cars that have the larger studs.

This does not necessarily mean you'll have problems with wheels, though. Several of the stock wheels have 16mm holes, and will work with either the 12mm or 14mm bolts.

The information I have is that any Mini Cooper S with a production date of after August of 2006 will have M14x1.25 Bolts instead of M12x1.5 bolts. My Mini was a Week 33 (Mid August) production and has the M14 bolts. I just finished drilling out a set of wheels to get them on the car.

What kind of wheels did you have to drill out? I know the stock "Holies" and
"X-lites" fit either size stud without drilling, but I haven't seen a comprehensive list of what other wheels will fit. Most of the manufacturer pages don't list bolt-hole diameter as one of the specs for their wheels.

I can verify that the GP's lugs are, in fact, M14 x 1.25... an odd size, as far as the combination of diameter and thread pitch. Not standard, anyway. We'll be looking for a supplier of studs...

I bought a set of Flik Bullets off Edge Racing. The bolt holes are M12
