Summer tires
So I live in Michigan and am already wondering what to get for summer time rims and tires (i know, it's like decorating for christmas before thanksgiving). I have a LY/W Mini with 17's stock on it right now. I like that size but don't like the weight or look of the S-Lite's. I don't do any racing on a course but like to drive the car and not let it drive me. No real big budget, hopefully around 1K for complete package. I plan to keep the S-Lite's for next winter with new rubber. I have never been that experienced when it comes to this subject, I mean I can do the mechanical work but the only tires I have bought were some Kelly's for an old buick. I looked on tirerack's website but it is hard to see the whole picture on that little side view.
So, does anyone have pics with specs of their favorite rims and tires. thanks in advance.

There's a great thread here with something like 80 PAGES of mini folks showing off wheels!

And in an hour or so, once you're dizzy from scrolling... check TireRack.com or talk to Alex there, he's the Mini expert there and a supporter of this Forum. Also check the classifieds, lots of folks here change tires like I change shoes, and there are some great bargains that come up there from time to time. Oh - if you're going to BigBrakes, make sure whatever you get will fit 'em.
Here was my choice, no regrets so far. Wheels were $500 the set on eBay (private seller), and hard to find BBS RK's in a 17x7. Tires are my OE Pirelli Eufori@ 205/45/17, which will be replaced by something different when they wear out. MANY other combinations on that thread above.
