new brake pad advice

So 2 weeks after taking delivery of my Cooper, I'm disappointed in the amount of dust collected on the 4 wheels, but especially the front. So I'm looking for some new pads, what are the ups/downs and your suggestions.

Thanks!

I really, REALLY like the Porterfield R4-S for street (and autocrossing)... GREAT bite, excellent stability, and low dust compared to stock. IMHO, they're the best performance pad out there that's low dusting. They don't drop off like the EBC Greens when they get really hot, and offer better overall performance with a similar reduction in dust... They're also very quiet...

We can get them for you now, and will have a bunch in stock shortly...

From what I understand Hawk ceramics are a virtually no dust pad. They are supposed to be a good pad also.

I have the Hawk HP's and they give off less dust than stock and have a lot of bite.

I have the Axxis Ultimate pads up front. Better bite under pressure than stock (less at first - need a bit more heat to be effective it seems so far). Dust? Meh, 'bout the same from what I can see so far. I have about 500 miles on them. This is with stock calipers and slotted rotors.

UKSUV may see more dust appear with a bigger contact area shaving off more rotor/pad with each application of the brakes.

My general experience/knowledge with EBC is to avoid their products. Inconsistent and/or undesirable results.

I normally use Hawk pads on the street and track. However, when I ordered the parts for my brake replacement Hawks were on eternal backorder... So far no reason to dislike the Axxis pads but I wouldn't hesitate to use Hawk on the next round of brakes.
