New Kumho run flats

Has anyone heard about these new ECSTA SPT XRP run flats?
They sound great and are only $130 in 205/45-17.

i really can't comment on the runflat... but i've been running the non runflat for the last year or so and i can tell you they are great in the dry... they grip and grip and grip, breakaway is progressive, and rides very well for a tire its caliber.. though i complained about it's weak wet grip.... it defenitely isn't the GSD3, but i can vouch the dry grip more than makes up for the short comings whne it gets wet

kyriian, how is the wet grip compared to OE runflats (Pirellis if you had 'em). I had GsD3's and they're on the good side of "phenominal" in the rain, the Pirellis, well, not so much Phenominal as "average". Are the Kumhos better or worse than the runflats? (I'm talking specifically in rain, I'm assuming other ride characteristics are better)

(the new Kumho Logo!)
These Kumho Ultra High Perf Summer runflats look brand new. They are all in stock.

Tirerack will run tests soon enough and post the results, hopefully comparing them to other runflats.

The 195/55-16 and 205/45-17 are friendly sizes for the MINI.

195/55 VR16 87V 340 AA A 24 lbs. $120 each

205/45 VR17 84V 340 AA A 28 lbs. $130 each

Hopefully Kumho has done a good job and the tires will be just as good or better than OEM runflats.

Give Alex@tirerack.com a call and find out more.

These XRPs are an expansion of Kumho's runflat line.
Earlier they released the MX XRP

Early response is favorable.

FYI, Just bought a set of the Kumho run flats. My initial impression is the turn-in is great, just like the Pirelli run flats. The dry traction seems down noticeably from Pirellis but a lot better than the Yoko AVS's I had for a while. They seem at the ride is at least as harsh as the Pirellis but thats ok for me. We'll see if the wear is any good. Overall I am happy so far. I am a very agressive driver so I am very sensitive to the turn-in and dry traction. I like the Pirellis but I would like an alternative to the cost and/or wear.
