What is Stock MINI Offset?
OK .... I've been searching for 30 mins now to try to find out what the stock offset is for the Mini? No joy. I have a great deal on Motegi MR7s, but want to make sure that they will fit OK.
The tires that I'm going to fit are the OEM Pirelli run flats 205 45 17s.
My car is not lowered at all as I use it as a daily driver here in Ontario (SNOW)

This may help...

I know that they fit Civics (oops did I really say that on this site), cause that is what these came off of.

r85 = +50 offset
r90, r91, r97, r98, r99, r104, r108 = +48 offset
You can run lower offsets... my aftermarket 17s are +42 offset.
Rather than continuing the guess work, what are the offsets of the wheels you are interested in? We can tell if they will work or not.
You will need a 56.1 centerbore and a 4x100 bolt pattern. The centerbore may be larger, you'll need hub centric rings to fit.
BTW, the link posted earlier had all the offsets I posted... just had to scroll down to the 17s.

57.1 is a VW centerbore... and THEY will fit too... but 0.5mm centering ring is tough to find. Maybe I'll cut up a pop can... back to your regularly scheduled program.
I have 42mm offset BBS 17x7 and they're no problem, can't imagine 2mm making much of a difference. Note the above about possibly needing longer lug bolts.

For any stock MINI with stock suspension you can use aftermarket rims with about +37mm to +50mm offsets.
4x100 bolt pattern and most will be larger hub bore than 56.1mm which is standard for the MINI. Some Rota rims will come with that option.
For most rims it will be larger than 56.1mm so you can ask the vendor or order on your own some centering rings which come in hard plastic or metal. There are many different sizes so specify your desired hub bore is to fit 56.1mm.
Wheel hub centric rings from $22 a set of four

Roadsailer,
For the Motegi MR7
The rings should be:
72.62 mm 56.15 mm Plastic $21.99 or Aluminum $30.99

Thank you all so much
I REALLY appreciate all of your time and effort
I have ordered composite rings as they are strong and don't corrode. All that I need to do now is to find out what size bolts to go for. I know that the Mini uses Tapered seat 12x1.5 by 38 mm as stock and my wheel bolt head openings are a little over .75" with a wheel face thickness of approx 10mm.

Motegi MR7s
Handling is good and I needed narrower lugs, so I went for a lug conversion

If you have tapered lugs you may not need a centering ring. The lug tapers will effectively center the wheel if properly torqued (snug 'em on opposite sides, then torque to spec - using a hand-held torque wrench - on opposing lugs. Drive to the end of the driveway and back, then re-torque. Should work!

I was close to my dealership, so I swung in and grabbed a torque wrench and started checking wheels. Both rears were fine, right front, one of the four lugs was loose by a full rotation, not a big deal.
The front left wheel, however, had two loose lugs - one made it 5 or 6 full rotations before torquing properly, another 3 or 4. WAY too loose, obviously. So I snugged everything down, and drove away. Still getting the kick - so now I'm afraid I may have bent the wheel at the center. I have two spares, so I'm going to check it out tomorrow, but I'm concerned this may happen again. How can I make sure they're secure and mounted correctly, or do I just need to check the torques more often?
