OZ Wheels Question...

I want to purchase the OZ Ultraleggera 17x7 wheels from Tirerack however, they only carry the et37 . I want to run a 215/45-17 tire, however, I am worried that I may have some rubbing issues on my slightly lowered car. I could go for the 215/40 tire? OR another supplier has the same wheel available in a et40 . Will this 3mm difference amount to anything? Would like to give tirerack the business. Any suggestions appreciated... Thanks

The rubbing is minimal, and lestened if you lower the vehicle. It will graize the rear bumper brackets - you can correct this with dremel and a sanding drum. very easy. You can seach, many users have done this exact mod.

Is it the lowering in conjunction with the 37mm offset that creates the rubbing issue? Would 17x7 Ultraleggeras shod with 215/45/17s be in danger of rubbing even with stock sport suspension ride height? (on an '08 R56 MCS)

Who is the supplier with the 40 mm offset? I'm thinking of these from daily use on my GP with 215-40 -17 tires.

I bought my Ultraleggera wheels 7x17 Et44 thru ozracing.com
Shod with 215/40-17 tires and lowered right down, I have no rubbing issue whatsoever...

Anyone running 18" Ultraleggera's with 215/40/18's on R56? I have been searching for someone who is. Gabe at motoringfile said he was going to this in the spring..... But I'm concerned about rubbage...I have been on the fence with this or the 17's with 215/45/17's I cant decide I want some extra sidewall to fill gap without lowering. Want to use tirerack.....Help me out guys!!

I have 215/35/18's on my OZ's with the sport suspension height. If I were to lower right now, I don't see any rubbing issue with 35's as well as 40's.

Caleb was running 18" Ultraleggera's with 215/40/18 tires on a lowered R53 without any rubbing. R56 has more room so I don't see it being a problem.

I was recently making the same decision. Decided on 17" wheels mostly for weight reasons. Now I'm just trying to decide if 215/45 or 215/40 tires would be best.
Here's some info to help you out -

Tire diameters:
195/55/16 (OEM 16's) - 24.44"
205/45/17 (OEM 17's) - 24.26"
215/45/17 (popular 17" size) - 24.61"
205/40/18 (OEM 18's) - 24.45"
215/35/18 (popular 18" size) - 23.92"
215/40/18 - 24.77"

Mine was fine with the stock springs. I had rubbing when I went with M7 springs. I went to 40's and it was perfect . I have a 03 MCS BTW.
