ca$per, i don't know specifically about the wheels that you pictured, but my 18 X 8 HRE's (of similar style and construction) weigh a little over 19 lbs.....not lightweight, but not bad for a 18" street wheel...

ca$per, both wheels you pictured very nice and will look good on the MINI. If you're interested, PM me the wheel models you want and exact sizes and I can get you weights and pricing.

FYI, although HRE's are really nice and of great construction for the street. I wouldn't recommend them on the track. It has come to my attention that a lot of tracks have banned them as there has been occasions of cracked barrels. Again, these wheels are of great quality but simply not meant for the track.

Wake, why would you not recom. them for the track. I live near HRE headquarters here in Carlsbad and I have seen HRE on all kinds of cars from Porsche to Ferrari. These cars see plenty of track time out here.

They arent strong at all....there are pics of them bent to shreds from going off the track just a little bit. It's pretty funny considering they cost so much. HRE's are very prone to bending.

What he said. Like I said before, I have heard of several accounts of HRE's bending and even worse, the barrels CRACKING, from track use. Yes they go on Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, etc. Believe me that I know about that..

Simply put, they aren't track tested and aren't meant to be used for the heavy stress during high-speed cornering, etc. that the wheels will see at the track. I have heard of tracks straight out BANNING HRE's.

SSR Comps. 16 X 7 = 11.3. Lbs. Mine have held up well in three years of street, track, and autox duty.

I wanted these for my e46 M3 but sold it to get another MINI.

I guess I'll have to put em on one of the MINIs as soon as I can come up with $2K of scratch.

For a non-race tire, money no object, I'd be buying a set of Volk GT-U's in 17, for my CR/W mcs.

I would get these in white, size 15x6.0 or 15x5.5 According to wheelweights.net, 7.9lbs and 8.2lbs respectively.

I completely agree with SB, except I would go with 15" wheels instead. Even lighter and even more super cool.
