Need Caliper/Warranty Advice
HELP!!!
I recently had 4 new Brembo rotors (OEM sized) & Hawk HPS pads installed. Long story but basically in 600 miles my rear passenger exterior pad is 50% worn (& the rotor isn't looking too happy either) I have had 2 independent shops look at the problem. I have had my brake fluid flushed. I have had things lubed & cleaned. The conclusion has been reached that it must be the caliper. My SA told me that the caliper is not covered under warranty & a new one is like $257 (for the part only). I feel that is BS & the caliper should be covered as it isn't a wear & tear item. Plus if it wasn't faulty why is only one caliper acting up.
I do not have a dealership in my state so there was no way I was going all the way to GA to get my brakes changed & the rotors & pads I used are up to spec. Basically I feel I am at the beginning of a battle w/the dealership & I was hoping some of you could supply me with a bit of ammunition since I am not mechanically inclined & I hate to go into a battle of wits unarmed
Thanks,
Teresa

Howdy
I just got back from BMW of South Atlanta had my oil service done, and it is a new cast of people since I was there last. I had Jim King as my SA he was great not a word on the several mods I have done seems nice and understanding, you might give him a call and explain the problem. It is almost a different place than when it was Hank Aaron.

See I don't really consider my brakes a mod. I mean I didn't upgrade to the large rotors or anything. I left a message for Jim over 30 minutes ago but I doubt he will call today. I really hope all this gets resolved before the dragon since I don't even have 600 miles of wear left on my 3 week old pad & rotor
