Reduce carbon buildup with a BSH Dual Boost Tap
Happy New Year, NAM!

Just wanted to drop a note to 2nd Gen (2007 to 2010, Turbocharged) MINI Cooper S owners who have installed Oil Catch Cans, but are still running their PCV system in the OEM configuration. As many of us already know, our cars are prone to carbon buildup on the intake valves. This is due to combination of spent oil, water, and blowby vapor that gets sucked around the PCV system of the N14 engine and onto the valves.
A quick and easy way to reduce the onset of this phenomenon is to (first install an oil catch can, of course and then) install a block-off plug into the PCV line that goes directly into the intake manifold. We have an easy way to block this line and reduce engine maintenance via the BSH Dual Boost Tap .
