True, but if it flips at 50 mph and there is a need for a roll-cage becuase the car cant handle it, there probably needs to be a recall. I am not against the idea, in fact I think its necessary at high speeds. like goin440 I am more worried about the harness than the absence of a roll-cage. A roll-cage would fix the harness issue and help in the case of a rollover. I am just not one to believe that a MINI is capable of rolling at the low speeds it produces nor its inability to reel in 50 mph oil causing slide unless the oil was continuous. This is to say that the driver is a completely compentent driver.
If I were to build a drag car with a MINI, yes a rollbar would be on my list.

ANY car can roll on the drag strip. Yes, 11s require a 6 point cage, 10s an 8 point I believe. 13s a helmet, 12s a helmet and driveshaft loop if applicable.

The plan was to make the car as fast as possible without requiring a roll cage.

Umm Maybe you don't undedrstand UBKyoung. but this car is stripped to the bareness of the car, if the metal somehow fractures and causes human damage without a rollcage when flipping, odds are that you are dead. Chad, BTW I go to the local dragstrip with my Mini, just haven't been able to with my mods yet since I moved and the track is closed now. Oh well.

sorry i didn't know they messed with the external frame. If i would have known that they cut the frame it would be a different story. Taking the plastic side panels etc off the car doesn't mean that it is any less sturdy. again, I am not against a rollcage. jeez. IMHO 13-14 second cars aren't anything to fret over and yes, again, a rollcage would help.

13-14 No Fret?

Are you serious? This is where most of the people get their sponsors! Heck I alsmost got a sponsor when I ran a 16 sec quarter! I refused it because I lived in my parents house and still was in high school.Nowadays, if i could find a sponsor, then heck, I'd take it on first sight.
