How do you guys handle new maps? If I purchased this tune, and wanted to later get a new map for a FMIC or something else, how is that handled or priced? thanks!!

Glad to hear Torco for sure works. It costs the about the same per fl/oz as other octane boosters from Pep Boys, but it *actually* boosts octane.
I have used xylene and toluene in the past on my talon prior to the water injection system. Or I ran 104 unleaded (not cheap!!). Mixing in more e85 could work as almost all our fuel around here is e10 anyway so ethanol shouldn't be too harmful. You will lose some mpg (ethanol provides less energy per volume) as you will need more fuel per air volume. Also when I mixed custom blends before, it was tricky to get it consistent and potentially impossible on road trips. You have to have all supplies available (e85 for example is not sold everywhere) and you have to know how much fuel is in your tank prior to adding anything. May have to also hit up multiple pumps.

Just throwing those out there to be a pain.

Haha no worries! Fortunately I don't do road trips in my Mini or anything and there is both a race gas dealer and a station with E85 not too far away either. I just knew some people were skeptical with their 91 octane. I wanted to let folks know there is a way around that. Actually Torco is priced well. It beats out most things at Autozone or Pep Boys and it actually works. Your input is well received though. Great info for folks looking to increase their octane

Good to have the discussion! I had not heard of the Torco before. I'll check it out. I got my ideas from the Grand National guys years ago. For the folks that have 93 available - you lucky dogs!

So does that mean that if I take my car to BMW/independent for servicing I should flash back to stock and ask if they have updated the software when I get my car back. In other words if your software is installed will there be any problem updating the software for the dealer. Also with the fine tuning for carbon build up have the tunes lost any power.

You do not have to return the car back to stock, very hard for Mini to find out that you have flashed it. If they update your tune it is just like writing new information. Everything gets cleared. We will be doing some testing as we have a few people running our Carbon Build Up tune. Will post when I have more information

I`m waiting on a reply from Alex. Looks like Evolve will be selling me more than just a tune. Can`t pass up a deal like this! Excited! Subscribed.

Well I like where this is going. My only "concern" is the 93 octane. But it seems that can be achieved with some math. And for road trips either load your old (oem) map before or bring some additive?

How is the throttle mapping on your tune? Is it a little more linear? (Regarding the peddle location vs throttle )

already working on the 93 octane, we should have no problem as many of our cars we tune for run on 93 octane.

Sadly I meant that I don't have much 93 around here the highest typically is 91 so I would need to mix to achieve that octane (unless 91 works too)

Just let us know what your running and we can adjust for it. We have seen plenty of different grades of gas and we have a vast amount of knowledge and can make it work

Posted on the Australian MINI MODS forum a few responses but mostly how they already had RMW tunes. One guy was interested but has the later N18 engine so let him know that Evolves working on something and BMS JB+. Looks like we're struggling to get to 10, hopefully other people are Just waiting for details of development being done before committing themselves to the group buy.

A group buy for the N18 engine will work very good for Evolve.
You can see how many guys with N18 going for BMS - as they do N18 now...

I`m waiting for deets before committing. Plus I'll need a couple days to mull it over. $ is a bit tight and I had imagined using WMW in a year or two... But like I said, a deal too good to be passed up needs consideration!

Question, if I get in on this GB, can I wait a month or two or three before requesting a tune? I want to get my ducks in a row (fmic, dp, intake and exhaust etc.) before getting a specific tune for those mods. I don't want to request for an initial/basic tune (no other mods) then a few months later, pay for a retune (w/mods).

yup, we will send you a cable and when you are ready send us your DME readout and we can take it from there.

What's the latest on the list, how many people have pm'd Evolve saying they want in on the group buy. I notice on the other thread people are saying their interested but not adding their user name to the list on this thread.
