Sold and recieved.

My only disappointment is not knowing to ask if the stock lug nuts fit.

I was going to mount tonight before leaving early for track time. What a let-down.

These are much lighter.

Tank wheel.

Glad you got them!! I didn't even check the lugs as I never mounted them. I know Wheel max sells the tuner lug nut kit with wheel lock for $39.99 Hope you like them!!

Report

I recieved the night before going to Firebird, so had to go to Discount Tire near the track for the lug bolts. Lucky I thought of bringing a large crescent wrench because the MINI lug wrench didn't fit the special socket. One of the regulars told me new tires should be heat cycled for at least 100 miles of easy driving, put away for awhile, then they should last longer (next time). They were balanced and mounted correctly. But all the emblems on the spokes (1 per wh) fell off the first day! And gee there are brakes behind the wheels!

Taken the second day.

Almost lost it soon after rotating the tires.:impatient Once they got warmed up and worn in, they performed well.

What over 4 hours of track time will do! I am dubious of the pointed tread blocks. It's like grating cheeze: the following edge folds over creating ridges that make it feel squishy. There is no support at the points so they fold over first. I'm tempted to take a disk sander to the tires to get a shaved result.

Saving 12 pounds a wheel is noticable! Glad I got these wheels. Thanks Jeff!

The new wheels look good. The track (and even autocross for that matter) can produce a lot of heat in the brakes. That causes the wheels to expand slightly and the caps go bye-bye. I lost three caps that way myself on my rewinds. Also, that kind of tire wear is pretty normal for a street tire with that pattern (I had similar wear on my Yokohama AVS ES100's). The ridges will wear down with some street driving. Sounds like a great time though.
