Difference between OEM Style 501 and 562 wheels?
Both 17x7 with 54mm offset. Both called "Track Spoke". Both available in silver. Googling has not been my friend, except that I know they (the silver version of each) have different part numbers: 501 = 36116855107 and 562 = 36116858899. Does anyone know the difference between these two wheels?

The 501 wheel will clear the larger JCW brake calipers and rotors.
The 562 will not (per this product info page at mini).
If you have a factory JCW or if you have retrofit the JCW brake kit to your car, you need the 501 variant.
The 562 will not (per this product info page at mini).

Yep, you will need spacers if you want to clear on other NON JCW wheels.

As ECS noted, wheel spacers can help make up the difference. If you have the JCW brakes and can only find the non-JCW wheels, spacers will help. But at that point, just buy some non-MINI wheels that fit, are lighter, and cost less. Unless you just have your heart set on a specific set of MINI wheels. (That’s why I bought a set of Roulette Spoke wheels for my F56, even though they’re heavy as hell and overpriced for what they are. I’m a sucker. )
(and not to pimp for ECS but they support the forum financially and offer help and advice all over the place, and their prices are usually competitive. They are one of my top two vendors to buy from. The other is Way Motor Works at www.waymotorworks.com; the owner is also active on NAM and super helpful. Opinionated as heck, but that’s cool by me. And Way’s prices are always competitive too; you can’t go wrong with his advice or parts. If you need MINI parts, check those two out.)
(not an employee, just a very happy repeat customer of both!)
