"Next to godliness..." I washed everything with Purple Power, blew it dry, and then sprayed all bearings and steel parts with WD40. The case bearings at the back of the housing were treated with about a peanut sized glob of Lucas Oil Red N Tacky (NLGI #2 synthetic grease, good up to about 450 deg.) I did check the bearings for lateral play. I couldn't get the dial indicator on there but could not detect any movement with my hand.
